A few years ago when I started this blog, I just wanted to share my reviews on products I’d bought and products that I noticed at the counters. At the time, I certainly didn’t expect to be invited to as many product launches and events as I do now.

The term “beauty junkie” is often used to describe those who are passionate about beauty products but I’ve never thought of myself as one. Sure, I love makeup and skincare but that’s not the extent of my interests. I love to read too but I don’t consider myself a bookworm. Yesterday, I received one of the best media gifts of the year. Yes, I know the year is hardly over but I don’t know if media gifts for me will get better than a pair of Charlotte Olympia slippers which she designed for her collaboration with MAC Cosmetics. These slippers are so exclusive that they’re not sold to customers. That’s why they are a media gift.

Pink with a design of fingers clasping and ‘rubies’ for fingernails, these are indeed lovely to look at. However, because they’re quite narrow, I don’t find them that comfortable. Charlotte’s design philosophy is to create luxurious, feminine shoes and accessories with a sense of humour and these slippers definitely have a sense of humour about them.
