Brazilian Waxing at Skinz Sanctuary, Scott Garden

As I have been to Scott Garden many times, I thought I had a fair idea of where Skinz Sanctuary was located. After all, I’d just been for a facial at MySkin Cosmeceutical on the 3rd Floor so it couldn’t be that far away from there. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Just as well I looked for Skinz Sanctuary before making my appointment because it took me all of 20 minutes to find it. It’s actually accessed from their entrance on the 2nd Floor which faces Old Klang Road and it’s nowhere near MySkin Cosmeceutical. For a small place, Scott Garden has succeeded in confusing me thoroughly and to make matters worse, not a floor plan to be found.

Didn’t really need another Brazilian Waxing session as my last session was just over a month ago but the Groupon voucher was about to expire very soon. To my surprise, Skinz Sanctuary is a lot more spacious than it looks like from downstairs. They use Cellnique skincare for their facials and also offer spa services hence the jacuzzi in my treatment room.

Soft wax was used during my Brazilian waxing session which lasted for about half an hour. Strangely enough, they don’t offer any wet wipes before the session which made me feel rather awkward so I went to the washroom where there is a hose.

This process was a bit slower compared to sessions at other waxing salons as the soft wax took some time to harden and the therapist didn’t remove it in one quick motion. However, there was minimal discomfort. I think most people who’ve gone for regular Brazilian waxing get used to the pain after a while, might take some longer than others but I believe the majority of people get accustomed to the procedure eventually.

Another little surprise was that there was no tweezing of the fine hairs. Good if you hate tweezing like me, I think it causes more pain than the waxing. Bad if you want every single itsy-bitsy hair removed. I can live with the fine hairs so it didn’t really bother me but I just thought that made all the other waxing salons more meticulous.

No persuading me to sign up for a waxing package/other services during the session which is good of them but there was a bit of sales talk after the session which is normal and expected. I wouldn’t mind trying their facials as the prices are quite reasonable and they have promotional prices. They offer waxing for guys too by a male therapist.

Skinz Sanctuary is located at Unit 3-16, The Scott Garden, Kompleks Rimbun Scott, 289 Jalan Klang Lama  Kuala Lumpur 58100 (03-7982 3021).
