Shiseido Professional Stageworks

Sitting upstairs in a dark music club for a few hours, craning my neck to catch the action on the stage below is not exactly my ideal night out. However with some good company, watching some of the country’s best hair stylists create masterpieces, it turned out to be quite entertaining.

Shiseido Professional launched their Stage Works hair care range with a showcase of literally hair-raising creations. I’m no hair expert so I won’t be able to describe the looks but they ranged from the very wearable bobs and pixie cuts to the downright outlandish looks suitable for Halloween. Some of the creations and costumes were rather vampish and gave me the heebie-jeebies. Let’s just say they wouldn’t have looked out of place in some fashion shows but wear them out on the steets and you might be hauled into an ambulance in a strait jacket.

Bizarre hair styles notwithstanding, much credit must be given to these obviously experienced hair stylists who created the looks in a matter of minutes to blaring music. At times, the music was so distracting and annoying that I wanted to flee. It seems this is the only kind of Shiseido events I get invited to nowadays.
