Soap & Glory Skincare : Make Yourself Youthful Rejuvenating Serum

Boots in Bangkok seems to have a lot more Soap & Glory products than Sephora outlets in KL but then again, this brand has been available at Boots far longer than we have had Sephora here. I trust we will gradually be seeing more Soap & Glory products at Sephora.

The last time I checked Soap & Glory’s shelves at Sephora, their Make Yourself Youthful™ Face Rejuvenating Serum wasn’t available yet. I picked mine up at Boots (50ml/480 baht). It comes in a predominantly white plastic pump bottle.

The box has a retro image of a girl in a bikini, it’s very 1950s. What drew me to the product was its promise of firmer skin and fine line eliminating properties. What can I say other than I’ve always been a sucker for any skincare product with anti-aging claims.

I’ve been using this twice daily for a few weeks already. I like the gel texture which turns very fluid upon application and the scent which is gorgeous thanks to the sweet orange peel essential oil. One pump dispenses quite a bit, enough for face and hands.

Once applied, my skin feels very moisturised but unfortunately, it hasn’t done much to improve my skin’s appearance. It hasn’t reduced any fine lines nor has my skin felt any firmer. I’ve used it everyday on my hands but I don’t see any difference to the lines there.

These are the ingredients of the serum (obtained from Boots website):-

Aqua / Water, Butylene glycol, Glycerin, PEG-8, Coco-caprylate/caprate, Cyclopentasiloxane, Aluminum starch octenylsuccinate, Sodium polyacrylate, Caprylyl glycol, Glyceryl stearate, Hydrogenated polydecene, Phenoxyethanol, Cetyl alcohol, Butyrospermum parkii (shea butter), Disodium EDTA, Hexylene glycol, Trideceth-6, Limonene, Glyceryl acrylate/acrylic acid copolymer, Panax ginseng root extract, Zea mays (corn) kernel extract, Carbomer, Decyl glucoside, Sodium lactate, Aroma / Flavor, Gynostemma pentaphyllum extract, Parfum / Fragrance, Tocopherol, Xanthan gum, Palmitoyl oligopeptide, Palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7, Citrus aurantium dulcis (orange) peel oil, Linalool, Ascorbyl palmitate, Methylparaben, Ascorbic acid, Citric acid.
