Hot Stuff : Soap & Glory No Clogs Allowed™

Trust Soap & Glory to come up with a self-heating mask like No Clogs Allowed™ for deep pore detoxifying. You can feel this one working as soon as it’s applied on to skin as there is an instant heating sensation. The formula targets congested skin, spots and oil slicks so although it says that it’s suitable for all skin types, it is especially suitable for oily, blemished and combination skin.

These are the unique features of No Clogs Allowed™:-

  • 1-Minute Hot PORECLEAR™ technology.
  • PUMICE for polishing and smoothing the skin.
  • Smoothing and renewing SALICYLIC ACID.
  • Antioxidant GRAPESEED OIL.
  • JOJOBA BEADS that pop when you press them.
  • A NATURAL FRAGRANCE BLEND including eucalyptus, orange, palmarosa, rosemary & geranium.

Although the instructions stated that you’re supposed to wet your hands and then massage the product into skin, I didn’t wet my hands the 1st time I applied it but there was still a slight heating sensation. If you wet your hands, the heating sensation is slightly more intense but not to the point of being uncomfortably hot.

As far as the scent is concerned, I’m not going to say this is my favourite Soap & Glory scent but it’s tolerable. It’s just not as appealingly delightful as some of their other skincare products. There are very small jojoba beads which do pop as you massage the mask in.

The color is a light tinge of blue so if you are wondering, this mask won’t turn you into a Smurf look-alike. You have the option of either washing off the mask immediately or leaving it on for 3-5 minutes so it can clean better. I opt for leaving it on for 5 minutes to make the most of the mask.

Since I don’t have oily skin to begin with, I can’t speak for whether it reduces excess sebum and clears pores but I will say that it does what it says when it comes to clearing blackheads. I can see a slight reduction in blackheads but it’s not a cure-all as my blackheads are the extremely stubborn kind and most will only come off with an extraction process.

Nevertheless, I do feel my skin is a lot cleaner and softer after each use of the mask. There is a small sliver of a sponge provided but some of you might find it a rather inadequate size. I think it’s handy if you have no other sponge around but it hardly qualifies as a practical sponge.

If you don’t have seriously oily skin, I’d say up to twice a week usage would be a good start but if you feel you have oil-slick grade skin, then it can be used up to 4 times a week. The mask is available exclusively at Sephora at RM93/100ml.
